Worshipping God starts with valuing God.

The word "worship" comes from "worthy."

Revelation 4:11 KJV

[11] Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Worship is…

…“to hold in honor, esteem, show respect for…”

because of

"condition of being worthy, dignity, glory, distinction, honor, renown," valuable

MERRIAM-WEBSTER dictionary, ETYMONLINE dictionary.

Worshipping God is not just saying and singing nice things about God, as many believe. Worship starts with believing God is extremely valuable, a treasure. When people believe someone or something to be really valuable, they will express that in various ways. That is worship.

Jody, an elder at a church I attended, defined "worship of God" this way.

"'Worship' is the term we use to cover all the acts of the heart and mind and body that intentionally express the immeasurable worth of God."

Churches have deceived people to believe “worship” means “music.” Many churches have

Worship Directors who are really Music Directors. Is preaching and learning the Bible not worship?
