1 Peter 3:7 KJV
[7] Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
This does not say the wife is the weaker vessel, as many claim. It says for husbands to honor their wives as the weaker vessels. People say things like, "Treat her as a queen." This does not mean she is a queen. This verse may mean something similar.
For example,
2 Corinthians 11:16 KJV
[16] I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.
Paul told the Corinthians to receive him as a fool. But this did not mean that he was a fool.
We can observe that females are physically weaker than males. This verse may only mean that.
Through the years, people have taken this verse to mean all sorts of things that are not warranted by the Bible.
