2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV
[3] But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
[4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
If people's minds are blinded to the gospel of Christ, by "the god of this world," how is it fair if God to hold them responsible for not believing? Would it make sense to penalize a blind person for walking into a wall?
However imagine this. People in a line miles long, waiting their turns, to get their eyes poked out. To choose blindness over seeing.
People have their minds willingly and gladly blinded, because they hate the truth and refuse to even consider it. They will seize and cling to most any lie or fantasy, to avoid the truth.
2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 NKJV
[9] The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
[10] and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
