There must not be just one man in charge of the local church (typically called "pastor" or "senior pastor"), but several leaders, who are elders/bishops, as many verses reveal (for example, Acts 14.23, Philippians 1.1, 1 Timothy 5.17, Titus 1.5). Where in the Bible was there just one man over a church, or verses that say it should be that way?
These elders/bishops must come from within the local church, not from outside (Titus 1.5, Acts 14.23).
The word pastor is mentioned only once in the King James Bible, New Testament (Ephesians 4.11) and it is plural. According to 1 Peter 5.1-4, pastor seems to be a function of the elders, rather than on office.
Most churches prefer and choose the traditional model of one man in charge, rather than the biblical model. This is quite telling and disturbing that virtually all churches function this way.
