Deuteronomy 22:28-29 KJV
[28] If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
[29] Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
According to this, a virgin that is raped must marry her rapist. This is a common criticism of God's morality.
However, this may be the lesser of two evils.
If she did not marry her rapist, perhaps
She would not get married at all, ever, for not being a virgin.
She would never have children, because she would never get married.
Once her father died, she would have no one to take care of her. She would not be able to earn a living, because she was a woman.
However, getting married to her rapist,
She would have someone to take care of her, her whole life.
She might have children, who could give her joy, even if her husband did not.
She might even come to love her husband later on.
