Romans 1:21 KJV
[21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
The well-known chapter 1 of Romans reveals the course of evil that starts subtly, but continues on to the most hideous and shocking sins. Sins such as idol worship, homosexuality, murder, getting pleasure from other people’s sins.
The life of growing evil starts with two sins that most people do not give thought to. Not being thankful is one of them. (The other is not glorifying God.) Thankfulness is extremely important to God. Not just being thankful to Him, but being thankful to people, as well. Many people these days believe they are entitled to things they have no right to at all. These people are not grateful.
Thankfulness involves recognizing and acknowledging that someone did something for you. Something they did not have to do, but did it out of kindness. And their kindness pleases you.
There is so much to be thankful for always. The air you breathe, your “daily bread,” refrigerators, hot water to bathe in. The list is virtually endless. Thank God many times throughout each day. And thank people for even the smallest of kindnesses.
