Titus 1:14 KJV
[14] Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
When people embrace men’s commandments as though they were God’s, they ignore and neglect God‘s true commandments.
This is a common evil.
People will do sorts of things for God,
make all sorts of sacrifices for Him,
except what He desires and requires of them.
Genesis 3:3 KJV
[3] But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
This started with Eve. God never commanded her not to touch the forbidden fruit. She could have used it as decoration in her house, or made handicraft with it, or used it for sports.
Are those commandments you obey, “because God requires it,” really in the Bible? If so, where?
