God’s glory can be seen even in His most "horrific" actions.
2 Kings 10:25B-28,30 KJV
[25] Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.
[26] And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.
[27] And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.
[28] Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
[30] And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
According to a website that tries to show how atrocious God is, this is one example of God’s cruelty.
“In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church!”
Nowadays, people believe that those who do evil must be left alone. Not even criticized, much less penalized for their evil. God knows evil must be dealt with severely, because people's hearts are set on doing evil continually. Doing evil ruins people, always causing tragedies. Even when people do not realize it.
God‘s glory can be perceived in this part of Scripture. God praised Jehu for executing the worshippers of Baal. One of the greatest evils is idolatry. It is recorded in the Bible that God penalized idolatry severely.
Idolatry is essentially treasuring trivial things instead of the infinitely valuable God. Those who worshipped Baal attributed great value to something worthless, and considered the true God to be nothing. As a result, they lived out ruined lives, rather than optimizing their well-being. Your life, all of it, is determined by what you worship.
It was precisely appropriate that God penalize these idolatrous people in their place of worship. It was recorded as a warning to those who would do the same.
