Mark 5:18 NKJV
[18] And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him.
The man who begged Jesus did not know where Jesus would go, what Jesus would do, or what Jesus would have him do. He did not know whether or not Jesus would leave the beggar’s country (the country of the Gadarenes). If so, the beggar would leave behind family, friends, everything he knew. It did not matter to him. His top priority in life was to be with Jesus. All else was secondary.
What a contrast this is to the current practice of church leaders begging “church people” to devote a few hours/week to the Lord! And people using whatever excuse to avoid it.
