Often sermons are boring. So is going to the dentist. Do not expect to enjoy sermons more than you enjoy going to the dentist.
Learning the Bible may be interesting, and it may not be. It does not matter. What matters is that God is glorified in you and by you, and that you benefit, because you learned something new from the Bible. You go to the dentist to have healthy teeth, not for the dentist to entertain you.
“There is no a priori reason for supposing that the truth, when it is discovered, will necessarily prove interesting.”
Isaiah Berlin, paraphrasing C.I. Lewis.
