All pleasures come from God.

Most, if not all, sins are improperly using what God gives us to enjoy.


1 Timothy 6:17B KJV

the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;


Using these things according to God‘s commandments optimizes pleasure, whereas using them sinfully reduces pleasure.


An example from every day life. Usually, the first plate of food at a buffet is more enjoyable than the second plate. The first plate is enjoying the food God gives us. The second plate is perhaps the sin of gluttony.


An example from Scripture regarding the manna.


Exodus 16:19-20 KJV

[19] And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.

[20] Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
